CLB Farms is a modest sized 22 acre family farm located in the rolling hills of DeLuz CA - about 20 miles inland and midway between L.A. and San Diego. Among the best locations for growing California avocados, this area has the mild warm weather that stimulates tree growth and fruit production along with the sandy soil on its hillsides that provides the rapid drainage demanded by avocado trees to sustain plant health and produce the best tasting fruit. On our farm we commercially grow organic Hass avocados, and both Hass and GEM conventionally grown avocados.
With 3,600 Avocado trees total, including 3,100 of the Hass and 500 of the Gem varieties; 2,700 of the trees are managed to conventional farming standards and 900 of the Hass trees are USDA Certified to meet demanding organic farming standards. While the trees range from newly planted to over 50 years old, most are newer and of a modern disease resistant root stock, while the older trees remain to preserve the grove's beauty and character.
